The Vernon Treatment Centre is a non-residential facility operated by a non-profit society.
The Shuswap Okanagan Treatment Centre Society (S.O.T.C.S.) was founded by a dedicated group of recovered alcoholics and addicts. The Vernon Treatment Centre is governed by an elected board of volunteer community members and has served the Vernon area since 1986. The Vernon Treatment Centre receives financial assistance from the BC Gaming Community Grant, United Way funds, and also relies on community support, donations and the fundraising efforts of the board.

We offer a 10-day psycho-educational recovery treatment program for adults and adolescents. Our course starts in the morning and is finished by mid afternoon.Our objective is to educate clients about addiction, the process of changes, 12-step programs and relapse prevention. As a group, clients will explore relevant recovery topics by way of videos, guest speakers, discussions and group activities. The Vernon Treatment Centre provides facilitation focusing on group process, as well as course content. Our aim is to meet the needs of every client and the goals of each group. We would like to introduce to you Kate Altwasser, she is a specialist in addictions counselling for the last decade. If you want more information on root causes of addiction issues and methods of recovery, either for yourself or a family member she is the person to contact.
Her life experience with addictions and recovery, gives her the ability to connect with you on a personal and non judgmental level.
